Print Anthologies...

From time to time, I get a wild hair and do an anthology.  I like to read submissions that tell a story that is so well told that it deserves to see print.  Who knows, maybe this internet thing will fade away and all that will be left in its ashes are books in print.  Anyway, below are some of the anthologies that Dead Guns Press has managed to get into print or are looking for submissions.  Buy yourselves a copy and stay tuned for any future anthologies.
Hardboiled: An Anthology of Crime and Detective

Here's the low down on 'Hardboiled' and this just for you reader and browser types. Within every city in every corner of the world, there are the mean streets and dark alley ways that the cesspools of humanity call home. Most of these types of places are hidden from view from the more polite society types. You come down here looking for trouble and you're going to find it. You're going to find the dregs of social incorrectness, the rotten deals, the hard way of living, dope and booze, dames gone bad and the 'down on his luck' enforcer types. Even got a few PI's and some cops that make life hard every once in awhile and some of them are even looking for a killing good time. Everyone takes his licks and no 'civilized' laws apply here. It's just the laws of the jungle that reign supreme. Yeah it's rough down here. You might walk outa here with a few lumps or a busted lip but consider yourself lucky. These dark alleyways of life are ruled by the good guys or the bad, you just gotta chose your sides carefully. The only question I gotta ask is which side you on? Follow along the mean streets of Hardboiled for a darker slice of life as told by Greg McWhorter, Paul Dick, Stephen D. Rogers, Scathe meic Beorh, James D. Reed, Rachel Cann, Roger Leatherwood, John L. Thompson, Bruce H. Markuson, Rachel Towns, Matthew Wilson, T. Fox Dunham, R.J. Spears, Gregory Jeffers, Cindy Rosmus, Kenneth James Crist, Gary Clifton, John H. Dromey, W. Jack Savage, Anton Sim and Michael J. Solender.

Undead War: Tales of the Zombie Apocalypse

The Undead War means a battle of survival for the remaining pockets of humanity . It's the only thing that matters these days. Survive and win at all cost. The old ways of life mean nothing anymore. Those 9-to-5 jobs, the corporate empires, all those laws on the books, any government the world over and everything that meant anything were swept aside. That includes those nice big screens televisions, computers, jewlery, gold, those fancy cars and the money that everyone slaved their asses off to get - it don't mean a damn thing anymore. When those things came back to life, the governments said they were going to eradicate the undead, the zombies, zekes, walkers or whatever those things are being called these days, but instead the governments collapsed. There's nothing left of the old ways of life just the surviving and dying. Everyone here has got a story of the horror of the old days, the days after and everything in between. Everyone here survived, or maybe they didn't but this book will help you survive the hordes. All you gotta do is just get to reading and maybe you'll learn something. Read the tales from the Undead War from these survivors: Tim Tobin, John L. Thompson, Joseph Rubas, Dave Fragments, Kameryn James, Ryan Neil Falcone, Chris Limb, Matthew Wilson, Kenneth James Crist, Greg McWhorter, M. Leon Smith, Jordan Mierek, Cindy Rosmus, Matthew Howe, John X. Grey, T. Fox Dunham, Richard A. Becker, Gary Murphy, Essel Pratt, David S. Pointer, Ginny Bowman and Shane DeMink .

Badlands (Closed and in Editing)

"I was a guard for Wells Fargo and Company. The Company had its fair share of holdups and I had a belly full in fending off a few attempts. I rode shotgun on the coaches transporting gold, letters and people across the Badlands. They say in those days, when the white settlers came marching across the western US, that they stirred up the dead and spirits of old things. Many reports from military outposts or relatives writing to family back east, wrote of a land filled with strange and unexplained wonders and terrors. Some people entered the Badlands on their own merits, an inhospitable piece of land that stretched on for miles. They went searching for gold or to stake their claim and were never heard from again; others went in and a few came out insane in the mind with the things they had seen. People whispered stories around campfires about the dead rising, blood-drinkers, cannibals and people being shape-shifters roaming the land. There was talk of beasts that were real man-killers. This is why some places became ghost towns overnight. I even heard a few accounts of strange beings coming from the heavens to pay us a visit. They say that the Natives had a lot to do with these things. That they were conjuring up the old spirits to ward off the white man’s evil love for gold and land. I call that just plain nonsense. Now Frank, I tell you, I seen some strange things in my days and I can't explain it all."-Lewis R. Thompson, (former Confederate with the 43rd Battalion Cavalry troop with Mosby Rangers, WF&Co agent, miner and Pinkerton detectiveRide along the dusty trail in the Badlands for a slice of the strange and bizarre as told by Mathew Wilson, Juan J. Gutiérrez, Dorothy Davies, John Thompson, Scathe meic Beorh, Earl and Paul Dick, Gerry Huntman, Bruce H. Murkuson, Greg McWhorter, Vivian Caethe, J.A. Campbell, John H. Dromey, David Pointer

A Glimpse of Heaven and Hell

Here’s something a bit on the side lines but is as important as anything else we’ve done. We’re doing an anthology titled ‘A Glimpse of Heaven and Hell’. We’re looking for subs for this anthology which will contain 12 stories of true life nature, not fictional. Yes, a bit odd, but that’s what Dead Guns Press is all about: being the odd man out and still making the magic happen. Here’s what we’re looking for: Send us your story about your encounter, or glimpse, into Heaven or Hell. We’re looking for true life events here, not fictional accounts. How did it affect you? What happened to you that led to a glimpse of Heaven or Hell? How have you lived since then? What did you see and experience while in either realm? What did you smell, see and feel? Details, details and more details, that’s what we’re looking for in this exciting anthology that’ll give hope. If you’re uncomfortable with using your real name, you can tell us a ‘writing’ name as a substitute, just state that in your submission and your real name will remain private. I’ve had people state that they don’t want to be labeled as ‘odd’ or ‘bizarre’, which is understandable in today’s anti-religion atmosphere.

Why are we doing this? I’ve had a few people tell me their personal story about dying and going to Heaven or Hell. I began researching this strange phenomenon and found there could well be correlating evidence that there is a possibility of both places. In some cases, people tell of seeing the same things such as flowers that are picked up and then replant themselves, a God that tells them that their time is not yet and they have to return, a Hell so dark and full of screaming shadows, etc. What is this strange phenomenon? Why and how does this happen? Is God reaching out to show that there is evidence of Heaven and Hell?
